Upon
receipt of your part(s), J&P's procedures are as follows:
A.
Day received- all parts listed on an inventory sheet.
B.
Pieces will be cleaned, stripped, blasted (as needed), etc.,
and a written quote will be sent to customer based on quality level
specified by customer. (There will be a small fee charged for
stripping, blasting & shipping.)
C.
Work on pieces will begin when authorization and 1/2 (50%)
deposit is received. (NOTE: The inventory sheet received by the
customer is a complete listing of all customer parts held in possession
at J&P Plating.)
D.
Process time depends on the quality level specified and
amount of work to be done on part(s). IE: repair, etc (Street, Super
Street, etc.) and does not begin until the deposit is received.
E.
Work will be returned (UPS or FED-X, C.O.D.) for balance due
unless job is paid for in full by the new completion date with a
certified check, cash, or money order. (Personal checks are accepted,
however, parts will not be released form J&P until the check has
cleared the bank.)
F.
Any complaint must be made in writing within 30 days after
completion
G.
Any problem part must be returned to J&P for an
evaluation.
*All
projected completion dates are tentative and will be based on the
volume of work in the shop at the time, and the amount of work to be
done to the part or parts.
**All
multiple part incoming work must be disassembled prior to arrival at
J&P (locks from door handles, etc.). In the event more disassembly
is required, the necessary work will be completed and any relevant fees
assessed. J&P will not be responsible for any damage incurred in
the disassembly process.
***Extremely
pitted an/or weathered zinc based die-castings (pot-metal) can be
difficult to replate perfectly. While J&P’s work is
guaranteed against defects in plating and workmanship (flaking &
peeling), it is possible that some replated parts may exhibit some
raised areas in the plate due to contaminated metal beneath and are not
considered defective.
Stainless
Steel
Removal: DO NOT USE A SCREWDRIVER - A correct tool can be
purchased at a parts store. Using a screwdriver can result in serious
damage to the piece.
Welding:Tears, fractures, holes, and cracks can be
repaired. However, it can be very difficult to have a perfect color
match in a welded area.
Dents & Kinks: A) Stainless steel is very thin. When
dents are pounded out, the piece is enlarged as the metal stretches.
Pounding out large damaged areas can run the risk of the piece not
fitting correctly.
B) It is impossible to
remove most kinks without ruining the piece.
Undamaged Stainless: Undamaged is not a problem as it can
be buffed and look like new again.
